How to Eliminate Credit Card Debts
The most obvious way to eliminate credit card debts is to pay more than the monthly required minimum--at least three times as much, if not more. Then again, if you could do that, you probably wouldn't be searching the internet for advice about the best way to eliminate credit card debts. And we can tell you about ways to eliminate credit card debts that won't break the bank. In fact, a lot of these programs can score you big reductions in interest rates, and some can even get the balances of your credit card debtsreduced.
If you want to score big reductions in your balances and interest rates, you might be interested in debt consolidation. When you consolidate credit card debts, you hire a debt consolidation company to negotiate with your creditors for just that reason. Then they combine the new, lower balances, and you make one monthly payment to the debt consolidation company at a much lower interest rate and get out of debt in five years.
Another way to get your balances lowered is to settle credit card debts through a debt settlement program. Under this program, you hire a debt settlement company to contact your creditors on your behalf to negotiate with your creditors. This negotiation usually gets you reductions so great that you end up only paying 30-50 cents on the dollar. But you have to have access to enough cash to pay that new amount off all at once. Sometimes you get 1-3 years to pay it off, but more than likely, you'll have to have the money right away.
You can also use a debt consolidation loan to eliminate credit card debts--if you have collateral. When you get a debt consolidation loan, you can pay off your credit card debt immediately, but you still have the loan to pay back. However, the interest rate on that loan is so much lower than what you were paying before that you can have the loan paid off in five years.
A debt consolidation mortgage is an option for homeowners. It allows you to borrow from the equity in your house to pay off yourdebt. Your payment is combined with your mortgage payment, so you get a great rate. It's paid off when your house is paid off.
